The investigators who are responsible for the ChileGenomico Project are committed to respect the privacy and dignity of all participating subjects, their relatives and the ethnic groups with which they associate themselves. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide the Chilean population with the necessary information to ensure that it is able to face the challenges of a future that will be characterized by a higher consideration of genomic information for the improvement of the population’s health. The investigators of ChileGenomico are conscious about potential misuse of the information generated from the project and will actively work whenever necessary to ensure that the results presented here or elsewhere are appropriately interpreted and used.
Recruitment of subjects and management of personal information is being performed according to national and international legislation and norms. All subjects provided written informed consent to be included in the study and all procedures have been approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Chile.
